Gernode
Master Barber
Gernode started learning to cut hair in 1983 in Mr. Hudson's Barbershop by the original Mr. Hezekiah Hudson. Gernode was selling candy out of Mr. Hudsons shop and saw him making his customers happy and look good. Gernode decided that he wanted that passion to make his clients look and feel good about themselves and know that he was the one who did it. He apprenticed as a barber for 8 years due to his age. When he came of age in 1994, Gernode earned the most prestigious title a barber can earn. He earned the title of "Master" barber. At that time, he was the youngest Master Barber in Savannah, Georgia. Gernode inspired so many people including the Great Terrance "Mr. T" James who had witnessed Gernode in action in the barbershop as an apprentice and decided to become a barber himself. He cut with Mr. Hudson for 2 years before he moved to Darrell's barbershop. While at Darrell's barbershop he also cut at Beavers Barbershop at the same time. After making his name in Savannah, Ga Gernode decided to take his craft around the United States. He cut in North Carolina, New York, Georgia, and many more states. Eventually he came back to his home state of Georgia where he settled down in Hinesville. He cut at three shops in the area, but none really fit the image of passion and dedication he had. Then he found his home at Royalty Cutz. Come check this Master at his craft out at Royalty Cutz Barbershop.
